PRUVULAZZU | dust

A new collaborative dance/perfermance piece direction/Choreography by Wonmyeong Won.

The creation’s point of departure is the island of Sicily, seen, anthropologically, through the humanistic aspects of the traditions and daily life of its inhabitants with their diverse histories and origins, and its relation to the island’s particular geology and geographical location, connecting Europe, Africa and Central Asia. Wonmyeong Won’s “humanistic consilience approaching” method, developed through his career. Departing from the collective’s research and cultural knowledge of Mediterranean folk dances, the piece traces the web-like lineage of local traditional dance practices through volcanic, geological and ecological conditions and the forming of temporary communities, expressed in a temporary and fogotten ancient languages.
